| Helmet in the Style of: CLASSIC NAVAJO PONCHO SERAPE, circa 1850 |
This poncho serape makes a series of artistic statements, each linked by color and design to the next. The medium-blue central diamonds give off a controlled radiance, while the weaves of terraced zig-zags on either side have a dazling, almost hypnotic effect. At each end of the poncho, the checheres border triangles evoke mountains-perhaps the LaSalle Mountain Range in southern Utah, still known to the Navajos on the northern reservations as "The Blue Mountains" or simply "The Blues." - Joshua Baer
Handpainted ARAI Helmet.
